Our first work  was influenced by the historical style. It is the “Duty free” building on the Iranian-Armenian border, at the bank of the Araks river. It is the first thing  a person crossing the border sees, so our goal was to make the building reflect our history and architectural style.  As the location is on the relief, we used this feature to build a two-storey structure so that the paths of cargo and visitors would  not cross. The design of the facade has a dominated and emphasized arched composition compared to the other arches, which is the main entrance to the trade zone. In the center of the other arches is the staff entrance. We used our traditional pink tuff as  the external cladding material. To make the structure modern and light, the shopping hall is  glass-enclosed.
